What to Expect From a Professional Organizer
What actually happens when you hire a professional organizer: the free consultation, the first session hour by hour, who decides what leaves, and what it costs.
Read the guide →Louisville is not one housing market. A shotgun house in Germantown, a post-war ranch in St. Matthews, and a new build past Middletown each hold a family's belongings differently, and each needs a different plan. We work across all of it.

A shotgun house has its rooms in a line with no hallway, which means every room is also a corridor. Camelbacks add a stair to the problem. Victorians in Old Louisville and bungalows through the Highlands have the square footage but rarely the built-in storage. Buying more bins does not solve any of it. The work is deciding what genuinely has to live in that room, then finding everything else a real home elsewhere in the house.
When the main floor has nowhere to put anything, the basement and the attic absorb the difference. Louisville basements are often damp, and an unfloored attic above a hundred-year-old house is not a storage room however much is currently sitting in it. We work through both by category, move what is worth keeping into sealed totes and up off the floor, and stop treating either space as though it were unlimited.
In St. Matthews, Lyndon, Middletown, Norton Commons, and the neighborhoods further out, space is not the constraint. There are bonus rooms, walk-in closets, and three-car garages, so nothing ever forces a decision and very little gets decided. Ten years on, the bonus room has stopped being a room. Much of that work turns into downsizing, and we pace it accordingly rather than trying to clear it in a weekend.
Deciding to let something go is only half of it. The rest is getting it out of the house before it drifts back. We sort donations as we work and load them into the car the same day, routing them to places in Louisville that will take them: Goodwill and St. Vincent de Paul for household goods and clothing, the Habitat for Humanity ReStore for furniture and building materials. For anything that needs a truck, we can coordinate a pickup or point you to a hauler.
Home Organizing Made Easy is run from Crestwood, about twenty-five minutes from most of the East End and roughly half an hour from the neighborhoods closer to downtown. Being close enough to come back matters more than it sounds: a short follow-up session six months later is easy to schedule, and a donation run does not have to wait for the next full appointment.
Based in Crestwood, a short drive from every community listed here, which keeps scheduling and follow-up sessions simple.
The first consultation is free and comes with a recommended starting point, a realistic scope, and clear expectations for time and cost.

Meredith was absolutely amazing, came in ready to go and didn’t stop moving the entire time she was here. I was very comfortable with her here, my dogs were comfortable with her here(German shepherds)- this means a lot to me and I know a lot of others. She knocked out so much stuff I had been putting off for an entire year, I would genuinely recommend her to anyone that needs help. Her energy alone was refreshing and inspiring and she was exactly what I needed! Thank you SO much for all your help Meredith, I am so thankful to have met you.
