Downsizing support for a smaller, simpler home.

Moving to a smaller home, or simplifying for the years ahead, asks you to make hundreds of decisions during a season that is already full. We build a realistic plan, sort belongings with you, and keep the process moving without letting it feel rushed.

Start with the new home, not the old one

Floor plans and measurements turn an unanswerable question (“might I use this someday?”) into a practical one: where would this live? Knowing that the dining set will not fit or that the new closet is half the size resolves dozens of smaller decisions at once, and it keeps you from paying to move things that have nowhere to go.

Sentimental belongings get real space

Downsizing is not about giving up everything that matters. We set aside a realistic amount of room for keepsakes early, then help you choose the pieces that best carry the story. Bulky items you want to remember but cannot keep can be photographed before they go.

Family handoffs need deadlines

Furniture and heirlooms promised to relatives can stall an entire move. We help you share a list, set a response date, and settle who handles pickup, so items in limbo do not end up in the moving truck by default.

A pace that protects your energy

Sorting a lifetime of belongings is tiring in a way that surprises people. We start in low-emotion areas to build momentum, keep sessions to a length that works for you, and sequence the hardest categories for when you have support and time.

What a project includes

  • A downsizing timeline built backward from your move date
  • Measuring and space planning against the new floor plan
  • Category-by-category sorting with keep, family, donate, and sell piles
  • A staged plan for photographs, paperwork, and keepsakes
  • Donation pickups and haul-away coordination
  • Moving company coordination, plus packing and unpacking support if you want it

Start with a free consultation

Sessions are $70 per hour for the lead organizer and $65 for each additional organizer. The consultation is free and comes with a recommended scope before anything is booked.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Downsizing questions we hear often.

When should we start downsizing before a move?
Earlier than most people expect. Starting several weeks or months ahead lets decisions happen at a comfortable pace, which is especially important when sentimental items or family coordination are involved.
Do you work with seniors and adult children coordinating from out of town?
Yes. Much of our downsizing work involves families, and we are used to keeping one set of notes, photos, and decisions that everyone can follow.
Can you sell items for us?
We do not run estate sales, but we help sort what is worth selling, keep it organized and accessible, and point you toward local resale, consignment, and auction options.
What if a family member is not ready?
That is common, and pushing rarely helps. We start with the areas everyone agrees on, keep the process respectful, and let progress in the easy spaces make the harder ones feel possible.

Meredith was absolutely amazing, came in ready to go and didn’t stop moving the entire time she was here. I was very comfortable with her here, my dogs were comfortable with her here(German shepherds)- this means a lot to me and I know a lot of others. She knocked out so much stuff I had been putting off for an entire year, I would genuinely recommend her to anyone that needs help. Her energy alone was refreshing and inspiring and she was exactly what I needed! Thank you SO much for all your help Meredith, I am so thankful to have met you.

Meredith is so sweet, easy to work with, and helpful! I have used her for several projects, the most daunting of which was my husband’s workbench area. Meredith is not intimidated by any mess or challenge. Definitely worth it!!
